Chip Griffin serves as Chief Digital Officer of DCI Group, a leading public affairs firm in Washington, DC. He oversees the development and implementation of cutting edge digital communications strategies and tactics for clients.

Chip has more than 15 years of experience in the public affairs arena, including service on Capitol Hill in the office of Rep. Bill Zeliff (R-NH) and as lead investigator for a House subcommittee chaired by Rep. David McIntosh (R-IN). In addition, he served as Deputy House Liaison at the Heritage Foundation and has worked for several public relations and grassroots consulting firms.

In 1997, Chip was named CEO of Townhall.com where he helped position it as a leading provider of policy-oriented news and commentary. In 1999, he returned to his native New Hampshire and launched his first company, Griffin Strategy Group, specializing in providing online communications advice to public affairs and media organizations. To keep in touch with his Washington network, Chip began writing PrimaryScoop, a daily newsletter focused on the presidential primaries – a web site that today would be called a blog. The overwhelmingly positive response to this effort led to the creation of the CustomScoop online news clipping service that continues to provide timely news and information to clients across many industry sectors. Bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, Chip has now founded or co-founded more than half dozen companies.

A prolific writer and speaker, Chip is a columnist for Mass High Tech magazine and he continues to write frequently at his blog, InterAdvocacy, as well as for various other media outlets. Over the years, his writing has appeared in leading publications including the Washington Post, Washington Times, and New York Times. He has been a frequent guest on talk radio and podcasts, and co-hosted several online radio shows. In addition, he often speaks to organizations about maximizing their engagement in new media efforts. He actively gives back to American University where he serves on the Alumni Board and the School of Public Affairs Advisory Council.  Chip splits his time between Washington, DC and New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
